The Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer was founded by St Alphonsus Liguori on November 9, 1732 in Scala, in Southern Italy. The young promising barrister renounces all earthly blessings and fame, and consecrates his life to God. Since then, new missionary order has worked for the most abandoned. Today, there are about 6000 Redemptorists who work in 73 countries and are members of 5 different rites and spiritual traditions (the Maronite, Chaldean, Syro-Malabar, Ukrainian-Byzantian and Latin Rites).
